Billing & provider keys
Does my Airlock plan include AI model usage?
No. Airlock never resells provider capacity. You connect your own OpenAI key in Settings → Providers and OpenAI bills you directly for tokens, images, and any other model usage.
What am I paying Airlock for?
The governance pipeline every request runs through: policy enforcement, sensitive-data detection and redaction, human-in-the-loop approvals, immutable audit trail, correlation IDs, and gateway request volume.
What happens if my OpenAI key is missing or disabled?
The gateway returns a typed no_provider_connection error (HTTP 424) and writes an audit row. No request is silently forwarded without an active connection.
